After School Tutoring
Several teachers in a variety of subject areas provide after school tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 to 4:30. This is an opportunity for students to get special help on assignments or to learn of and make up missed work. A late bus provides transportation home.
NOTE: Some teachers may not be available on certain days due to required attendance at a meeting or an appointment.
It is always wise for students to make sure the teacher is going to be there by asking that day.
- To attend tutoring, students must have an After School Tutoring Request Form on file in the front office. Click here for form: (After School Tutoring Request Form.pdf)
- Students should report directly to the room they will be studying in and sign in with the teacher.
- Students who need to switch rooms during tutoring may do so at 3:30. (They will need to sign out with the first teacher and sign in with the new teacher.)
- Students are expected to remain in tutoring from 2:30 until they are dismissed to the busses at 4:25 pm. Students will not be allowed to leave early.
- If a student is being disruptive, he or she may be asked to go to another room and/or lose the privilege of attending After School Tutoring.
Rules:
Students need to:
- Use the restroom and/or get things out of lockers before coming to tutoring
- Come prepared to work and learn
- Bring a book to read when finished with other work
- Keep cell phone use to a minimum
- Help maintain a learning environment in class:
- If listening to music, keep it quiet
- If working with other students, use quiet voices
- If asked to move to a different seat, do so without complaining.
